
Walaa Abu-Taleb is a dedicated and passionate senior lecturer in physiotherapy, currently leading the BSc
(hons) physiotherapy course and contributing to the academic team of the school of human sciences at
London Metropolitan University. With an abundant of experience spanning over two decades, her journey
in the field of physical therapy has been distinguished by a sincere commitment to education, research,
and professional development.
Walaa is also a registered physiotherapist at the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK
specialised in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. She is also a chartered Society of
Physiotherapy member. Her academic journey started with a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy where
she laid the foundation of her career. She then pursued Masters and PhD degrees in physiotherapy which
inspired her dedication to enhancing healthcare through practice, research and education.
She worked both clinically and academically in various governmental and private institutions providing
physiotherapy and rehabilitation for the Musculoskeletal, neurological, paediatric and women’s health
conditions. which enhanced her knowledge, and skills. Walaa has a teaching experience for several years
abroad and in the UK and she is Fellow of Higher Education UK (FHEA). She provided a number of
workshops in physiotherapy assessment and treatment techniques.
